This letter was published in the April 8 edition of the Lynnfield Villager.
To the editor:
I am writing to enthusiastically support Joe Gallagher for the Lynnfield Select Board.
I’ve had the opportunity to work with Joe on several projects, and what stands out is his character and approach. He is down-to-earth, highly organized, and thinks through issues logically while never losing sight of the people affected by decisions. Joe actively seeks out and works to understand all perspectives, evaluating each one fairly before reaching conclusions. He’s a smart and decent person you can trust to do the work thoughtfully and with integrity. I have also seen Joe remain gracious and composed under real pressure, which tells you more about a person than almost anything else.
Joe is deeply invested in our community and schools. As a parent of three children in Lynnfield Public Schools, he understands firsthand what strong, well-supported schools mean to families. As a teacher, I especially value his commitment and involvement, including his work with the Summer Street School PTO.
Professionally, Joe brings relevant, real-world experience. He has managed complex projects and budgets, led teams, and built strong relationships, skills that matter as Lynnfield navigates budget shortfalls, recent overrides, and the need for greater transparency around funding and commitments.
As a parent of young children, he is committed to protecting Lynnfield for the long term. Lynnfield benefits when people like Joe step up and bring fresh energy and perspective to local leadership, and I believe he is ready to do exactly that.
Joe Gallagher is thoughtful, capable, and committed. I am proud to support him, and I hope you will, too.
Sincerely,
Paula Sampson
