The following letter to the editor was published in the Lynnfield Villager and Lynnfield Weekly News on Wednesday, March 18.

Dear Editor,

I am writing to express my support for Joe Gallagher as he runs for a seat on the Lynnfield Select Board.

I had the pleasure of working with Joe for several years on the Summer Street School PTO, where he served as Director of Communications. During that time, I saw firsthand how dependable, thoughtful, and collaborative he is. Joe was always willing to step in and help wherever needed, and he consistently worked to make things better for our school community.

What stands out most about Joe to me is how willing he is to help others, even when he has no obligation to do so. When Lynnfield Youth Lacrosse needed help setting up a new platform, Joe immediately stepped in to assist—even though he did not have a child in the program. When I reached out, he responded quickly and without hesitation and completed the daunting task within days. That kind of generosity and commitment to the community says a lot about the type of person he is.

Joe has already dedicated countless hours volunteering in town through roles such as the Finance Committee, Library Trustee, Summer Street PTO, and now as Treasurer for the Lynnfield Art Guild. His professional background in project management, along with his focus on communication and collaboration, would serve our town well.

Joe believes Lynnfield is a town that works well but can always improve. He supports thoughtful planning for major projects and believes residents deserve clear, accessible information about important town decisions. He also believes that new faces in town leadership can bring fresh perspectives, encourage new generations of volunteers, and ensure a wider range of voices are represented. I couldn’t agree with him more!

Joe has already shown his commitment to Lynnfield through his many volunteer roles, and I am confident he will bring the same dedication, professionalism, and collaborative spirit to the Select Board.

I have worked with many great volunteers in our town over the years and I can honestly say that Joe has by far been one of the best! Lynnfield is fortunate to have someone like Joe willing to step forward and serve. I encourage residents to support Joe Gallagher for Select Board on Election Day, Tuesday, April 14.

Sincerely,

Christina Serra
